I first met Lauren while shooting her headshot for the bank she works at. Shortly after, Lauren contacted me to talk about her upcoming wedding and booked me shortly after!
My husband and I took Shawn & Lauren to dinner at Lockeland Table in East Nashville to get to know them a little better and hear more of their story. Their story almost didn’t happen after several missed dates, but thankfully they did meet for that life-changing date and the rest is history!

Shawn and Lauren’s wedding day started at West End Church of Christ.
Joseph met up with guys and captured some fun moments.
I loved Lauren and her bridesmaids embroidered robes.
I love these moments with just Lauren and her mom in the room.
Once the dress was on the girls were back in the room for the final touches… adding something blue.
We had planned on doing pretty much all of portraits outdoors around the church, but the contant drizzle of rain did not agree with us. HOWEVER, when you have an assistant, a very large umbrella and the church has a covering for people to stand under, that means I can stand in the rain and we can still get photos outdoors.
Lauren did a first look with some her family. I love these photos of her and her father as well as the adorable photos of her with her brothers.
After family photos, we headed back in for the final moments and prayers over the bride before the ceremony.
The ceremony decorations were simple and beautiful with flowers lining the aisle end of the pews.
I loved that Shawn walked his mother down the aisle!
Look at these cuties!!!!
That moment he see’s her for the first time in her dress.
And just like that… MARRIED!
We had a few minutes to grab portraits before heading off the reception.
You can never go wrong with a good silhouette photo.
Since it had been raining all day the original plan for their reception at the War Memorial was going to be held in the open area, but it had to be changed and all of the vendors thought quickly on their feet and rearranged the entire floor plan to keep everyone dry and Shawn and Lauren had a great attitude about what could have been a major bummer.
One of my favorite parts of their reception was the coffee bar. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!
It always fun when someone decides to smash cake into their partners face!
The last dance of the night…
Wishing you a lifetime of happiness!
