Steve + Erin are truly one the most fun and laid back couples I have had the pleasure of working with. Their ceremony took place on a Monday, but don’t let that fool you into thinking that there was not going to be a party. There most certainly was!
Venue: Ravenswood Mansion
Florist: Making Arrangements
DJ: Rick Ryan
HMUA: Josey Hawthorne Baker
Huge thanks to John Yates for second shooting/assisting.
This was my first time photographing at Ravenswood Mansion and boy oh boy it’s such a beautiful historic venue and the perfect spot for a wedding!
Just look at this beautiful dress and the fantastic decor!
The finishing touches on the makeup by Josey…
Steve and Erin got ready in the rooms across from each other so I was careful to make sure they didn’t see each other.
Before their First Look Steve and Erin exchanged cards and Steve gifted Erin with two champagne glassed with their names and their wedding date etched into them.
The time has come to reveal the final bridal look. STUNNING!!!
… and she is off, down the staircase to see her soon to be Husband!
I mean, really it’s no surprise that Steve was enamored by seeing Erin in her wedding dress.
Erin told me earlier in the day that she had a surprise for Steve. Steve is HUGE fan of popcorn, so what better surprise then to have a Popcorn Machine!
It was a sunny, but very chilly day. Steve and Erin managed to make being cold look freaking gorgeous!
We headed back indoors to the warmth and that staircase was just begging to be photographed.
This doorway made for the perfect backdrop for silhouette shots.
Let’s talk about two things…
Number one: Erin is unbelievably gorgeous!
Number two: Ravenswood Mansion and THIS ROOM.
Throwing a few back before the ceremony (not really, but it made for a good photo)
Mom came in to help with the VEIL… The final touch!
Their ceremony setup was so sweet, elegant and intimate and I loved hearing the live strings. (They even used a part of a Game of Thrones song for their Ceremony… HECK YES!
I am pretty sure there was a tear there as his beautiful bride neared…
Just like that… MARRIED!!!! Mr. & Mrs. Ross!
After we grabbed a few family photos we had a little bit of time before sunset so we set off around the grounds of Ravenswood Mansion to capture a few more images of Steve and Erin.
This red barn was a perfect compliment to Erin’s wedding dress.
The reception had everything lovely and tasty. Wonderful family and friends, beautiful flowers, popcorn, delicious meal, wine, beer, cigars, hot chocolate, coffee and a parting gift of s’mores!
After the meal, we headed indoors to the “cake room” where the Best Man and Maid of Honor made their speeches. There were a whole lot of laughs and tears too!
Once I saw the look in Erin’s eyes, I knew Steve was going to get smashed!
Back out to the dance floor…
When you have the time and resources why not create some cool and unusual shots.
Every groom deserves an epic photo with the dudes.
Whenever I go get these shots I think to myself, “I hope no one steps on my head while I lay on this dance floor…”
As the night was coming to an end there was one last dance and then a SERIOUS group hug.
Wishing you two a lifetime of wedded bliss!!!!
